Greek and Latin Reading RoomSo where are these study spots?  Check out the Petrovich Reading Room or the Current Periodicals Reading Room on the 2nd floor.  If you’re looking for a room with a view, be sure to visit the East Asian Reading Room on the 4th floor.  The Greek and Latin Reading Room (also on the 4th floor) might as well be the executive corner suite, with its sweeping views of Lake Mendota.

Spaces - Study Places - Carrels2Or, if you prefer to go it solo, check out one of our many study carrels, located in both the North and the South stacks throughout the building.  If you’re a graduate student in your second year of study or higher, you can also apply for locked carrels (why haul all those heavy books back and forth when you can keep them here?).

View of a group study room with whiteboard and monitorFinally, if you’re working on a group project and need space to spread out and have a conversation, consider reserving one of our twelve group study rooms.  They include whiteboards (check out markers at the Circulation Desk), large tables, and two have computers with large monitors for practicing presentations.  Reserve our group study rooms online—they can fill up quickly during busy weeks!

No matter what your style—big and open, small and secluded, natural light and comfy, or tech-ready—Memorial Library has the spaces you need to get stuff done.
